Description
A Perfect addition to your mid-century collection or to add a touch of the mid-century to your home, a vintage oval 1.5 quart casserole baking dish in "spring blossom green" decorated with solid and outlined white flowers, leaves and dots. It is paired with a complimentary reverse white milk glass lid decorated flowers, leaves and dots, some solid and some in outline, in "spring blossom green". This pattern is so iconic that it is memorialized in the Corning Glass Company's Museum of Glass from whom we learned that the Spring Blossom Green pattern was released in two versions. The first version (and this particular dish) was made between 1972 to 1979, the second from 1979 to 1981. In 1974, this pattern was sold as being "decorated brightly and boldly to go with your kitchen décor" and capitalized on the then popular trends of alternating background colors and the rage for avocado green. Spring Blossom Green is popularly referred to as “Crazy Daisy” by collectors, of whom there are many. Condition: In good vintage condition with very minor scratches, which as shown in photos are barely visible. The level of gloss on the lid and bottom has some variation, which like a small air bubble and some lines in the glass, appear to be part of the piece's original condition. Beauty fully retained. Note also that as is common with Pyrex of this vintage, the cover fits, but not snugly. The lid is embossed with "PYREX" and "943 C8". The base is embossed with "043 1 1/2 QT PYREX MADE IN USA OVENWARE 12"
